Car Accident

For car, SUV, and pickup truck accidents, we document the evidence from the scene, vehicles and photographs (such as tire and gouge marks on the roadway, damage to the vehicles, and black box data). If the marks are no longer visible at the scene, we use photogrammetry to add those marks to a scale CAD model of the scene. If the vehicles are no longer available, we use photogrammetry to determine the damage to the vehicles.

We analyze the available information to determine where the vehicles were coming from and how fast they were going, the driver actions, who was atĀ fault, and whether the collision could have been avoided. Utilizing our reconstruction analysis, we can support your case with a realistic CAD model and high quality animation of the crash.

Areas we typically address for a car accident:

  • The speeds and orientations of the vehicles before, during and after impact
  • Whether a vehicle encroached on the lane of another vehicle
  • Whether a vehicle stopped at a stop sign or traffic signal
  • Sight distance and visibility
  • The timing of events and the actions of the drivers before impact
  • The appropriateness of the driver actions before impact
  • Whether the accident could have been avoided by an alert driver (perception / reaction time)
  • In low speed collisions: the direction and magnitude of the forces
